HI

I

i

Noddy

always agrees

with himself

and he’s alright

right too

tell you what

he needs to hear

listening

like

a blind

horse

runs after

a beating

anyone knows

he goes

no such thing as

the road rules mate

ok then stay awake

all the way

‘till dawn

falls down

drinking

like

smoking

like

you’re about

to get on

a train

white

guy

on the side

of good

hey?

Just Now

i was painting the ceiling with memories

****

he brings the black queen close

to overthrow her

****

another lone bird

teaching me how to breathe

****

her eyes asked “have we said enough?”

****

sometimes the child gets between our lips

****

i was watching the clock

when it stopped

****

someone remembered they had forgotten how it felt

pulling the knife out

****

falling

i pass through my cry

and am free

****

i wrote another line

i’ll never hide

****

Poem to be Lived Backwards

walking

on a road

i find

myself

again

then

knowing

that

all

and

nothing

is

truth

this

as

radical

as

nowhere

i

am

lost

but

still

standing

then

again

myself

i find

on a road

walking
